CA Internet Securities is blocking part or all of a website I
frequently use or I am getting a message that my cookies are turned
off. What do I do to fix this?
Follow the instructions below to add
a website to CA's Privacy Control list. NOTE: Be
absolutely certain that the site you are about to add is a safe and
virus free site before attempting to add it to this list. Verify
this using the CA Toolbar in your browser.
- Open CA's Control Center by
double-clicking on the CA icon on the bottom right of the
screen

.
- Click on the "My Internet" box. It
will swing around to the front of the screen.

Click on "Update Settings".

In the menu bar of the "Keep My
Internet Safe" box, click the "Browser Protection"
button.

Verify the "Pop-up Blocker Control" in ON.
It should have a green box with a check mark inside.

On the same screen, scroll
down the page using the scroll to the right, like you would a
webpage, until you
see the "Set Privacy Control for Individual Sites" section and click the "Add" button to
the right.

In the box marked "Enter the
address..." type the address of the website you want to add. Do
not type "http://" or anything that comes after the ".com",
".net", ".org", etc.

Click "Apply" and you will return
to the previous screen. Check to make sure the site has been added
to the list and has the 5 green check marks next to it. If you get an
error message when you click the "Apply" button, verify you have
typed the address correctly.

Now that you have added your website
correctly, click the "Apply" button at the bottom right on the
"Keep My Internet Safe" screen and then close any remaining
screens. Congratulations, you can now access all items on that
website.
I forgot my
password to get into Windows XP. How can I fix this?
Windows XP Home Edition contains a hidden administrator
account. This account is not available during normal operation. Most
people don't go to the effort to put a password on this account. You
can use this account to remove the forgotten password on the other
Windows User account. Here is the procedure.
- Start or restart the computer.
- As soon as you hear the beep
(post), start striking the F8 key repeatedly until you see the
Microsoft Startup Configuration screen.
- Using your arrow keys on the
keyboard, select Safe Mode and press ENTER. You may have to press
ENTER again to select your operating system.
- At the login screen, choose
"Administrator".
- Upon entering Windows, click "Yes"
to start in Safe Mode.
- Open the Control Panel and then
open User Accounts.
- Open the account with the
forgotten password and select "Remove password". At this point you
may create a new password or continue to use the system without a
password. If only one user, Windows will load directly, bypassing
the login screen in normal operation without a password.
How do I
verify my CA Pop-Up Blocker is enabled?

screen
