Ray Stevens Theatre

When Ray Stevens came to Branson, he held auditions to hire local musicians. Donnie auditioned and attained the position of lead guitarist. He speaks of that day, "Even though I was scared out of my boots at the audition, when it was over, I shook Ray's hand and told him, 'I may not be the best, but I am the best man for the job!' He smiled when I said that. I really don't know what made me say it, it wasn't planned, just an impulse. I think my confidence must have impressed him and put me over the top."

During Ray's 3-year stay in Branson, Donnie received many opportunities to perform with various artists and meet many others. He also made many television appearances with Ray including CBS This Morning and the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. Donnie also performed on Ray Stevens Live and More Ray Stevens Live videos.
